3. A small packet of plasters – for those unexpected falls.

We’re going on holiday – or coming back

…and need to keep the critters busy on the backseat so they don’t look at each other, pull hair, slap, take toys or work on your last left ear nerve.

Here are some great ideas to keep them busy while on the road or at a birthday party.

Funny creatures
Buy a pack of pipe cleaners for each child. Show them how easy it is to bend it and make worms and snakes. If you are really creative… attempt a butterfly or flower.

Rock, paper, scissors
Be warned that the game is only as enjoyable as the last win and soon you might hear… but he/she is cheating whaaaaa!

Board games
Buy board games with magnets for when you travel. This will keep you car free from missing play pieces.

Colouring
We know how tempted you are to just give a whole box of crayons or pencils, but we recommend you give them only 2 or 3. They can colour and keep track of their stuff better when they have less.

Eating
It is so easy to buy chips and chocolates to take as snacks, but it is much healthier to get a

Quick and easy S’mores

Ingredients:

Marshmallows (large)
Biscuits (like Marie or Tennis biscuits)

Directions:

• Place biscuits flat on a microwaveable plate
• Put a marshmallow in the middle of the biscuit
• Gather the family
• Put the plate in the microwave and put on for 1 minute
• The marshmallow will puff out and roll towards the edge of the biscuit
• Stop the microwave and take out the S’mores
• Put another biscuit on top of the melted marshmallow
• Serve

Variation:

• You can chop up nuts (pecan works well), cherries or coconut to add a little bit of class.
