Finally, the end of the month is in sight! The December/January early salary is the worst imaginable invention ever if there was one. The worst part is there are so many birthday parties that your child gets invited to - or you are in the unfortunate position of having to throw that birthday party.

We had a family gathering this weekend and it seemed like the little generation is taking over. They seemed to multiply the later it got. They also never ran out of steam...

With all the water from the sky the best party plans don't always work out. This is just a quick idea on how to make the best of a rainy situation.

• Cups of Milo and hot chocolate with marshmallows
• Pancakes with sugar
• Flapjacks with syrup

• Put umbrellas or inexpensive raincoats everywhere
• Sunflowers
• Yellow balloons or blue balloons
