Party Theme: Mermaids / Mermaidia

Buy a mermaid ice cube mold and cake mold (if you are baking the cake yourself). This will save you quite a bit of money and it might be fun to decorate the mermaid's tail with cake crystals.

Party Snacks:

• Use blue drinks/juice/punch.
• Float multicolored ice cube mermaids or fish in the juice bowl.
• Bake star shaped cookies and glaze with icing sugar. To give it a rougher look, use cake decorating pearls to jazz up the star fish.
• Make mermaid lollipops.
• You can bake scones with raisins to use as rocks.

Party Ideas and Decor:

• Use tropical flowers as decoration on the tables.
• Use blue table cloths.
• Hang shiny blue material from the roof to give the effect of water above.
• Hang sea horses, fish and sea stars from the roof.
• Have the party around a pool and float water toys and flowers.

Party invites:

• Scroll tied with a ribbon that has a shell glued to it.
• Write with a silver pen on thick green ribbon (sea weed) and tie it around a big glass bead.
• Send a shell bracelet or necklace with the invitation.
